Nothing at all. The service is free for everyone with a membership card. We are a charity run by the community, for the community.

Residents in 6 villages of the Stinchar Valley have membership cards to show when travelling. This helps us to monitor how the service is used. Forgotten or lost your card? Don’t worry you can still travel. Contact us if you require a new card. Visitors are welcome onboard to explore our villages and support businesses, please let the driver know you are a visitor.

The bus is usually a white 16 seater minibus and will display a Stinchar Valley Community Transport sign in the front window. You must “hail” the bus by raising your hand at one of the scheduled stops or along a “Hail & Ride” route ie, Colmonell (Primary School to Boars Head) so that the driver knows to pull over. Please be early at your stop.

The bus will operate to a timetabled route however it is possible to drop you off along the route where there is no scheduled stop. Eg. for Kildonan Mansion House where there is no scheduled stop you can hail the bus from the roadside there and ask to be dropped off at that point between Barrhill Village and Barrhill Caravan Park.

The Community Bus is accessible for one wheelchair. Drivers are trained how to safely board wheelchairs onto the bus. Please contact South Ayrshire Community Transport on 01292 270864 or email info@sacommunitytransport.org before your journey or to find out more information about accessibility.

Each membership card can admit more than one person onto the bus which allows members to bring a friend to travel on the bus. However groups cannot be accommodated with one card. Please contact Stinchar Connections in advance if you would like to bring a small or larger group to travel on the bus.

Dogs are very welcome on the bus. To keep everyone safe and comfortable, please keep your dog on a lead, settled on the floor and clear of the walkways. Where possible, please bring and use a dog seat-belt tether. Assistance dogs are always welcome

Pushchairs must be folded and stored when using the bus. No booster seats are required for children as there are adjustable seatbelts which can be moved to suit the child, however babies must travel in their own car seat.
